equips African-Caribbean Internationally Educated Nurses

The Africa-Caribbean Nursing Continuum Program Program (ACNCP) Training Program equips African-Caribbean Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the Canadian healthcare system. Our comprehensive training modules cover workplace ethics, cultural competency, and orientation to the Canadian healthcare environment. Through hands-on sessions and interactive workshops, participants gain confidence and readiness for successful integration into their professional roles.

Cultural Competency Sessions

Navigating a new healthcare system can be both exciting and challenging for internationally educated nurses (IENs) from the African-Caribbean community. Success in Canadian healthcare requires a deep understanding of cultural differences and workplace dynamics. That’s why the Africa-Caribbean Nursing Continuum Program Program (ACNCP) Training Program includes Cultural Competency and Information Sessions, designed to equip IENs with the awareness, skills, and confidence to thrive in diverse healthcare settings.

Delivered through both in-person and virtual sessions, participants explore topics such as communication styles, cultural humility, and the role of equity, diversity, and inclusion in Canadian healthcare. Through interactive workshops, case studies, and real-life scenarios, nurses gain practical strategies to adapt effectively while honoring their own cultural identities.

These sessions not only prepare IENs for smoother professional integration but also foster stronger relationships with patients, colleagues, and the broader healthcare community. By embracing cultural competency, African-Caribbean IENs become better equipped to provide compassionate, high-quality care that respects the unique needs of every patient.
